David Chuang, PharmD
David Y. Chuang, PharmD is a pharmacy leader with an extensive record of leadership in hospital and clinical pharmacy operations. Currently, Dr. Chuang serves as Director of Pharmacy at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, California, where Dr. Chuang oversees a department of 30 full-time employees and manages an $8 million medication budget. He also mantains administrative oversight of the pharmacy at Sutter Delta Medical Center and Dublin PAMF infusion center.
Prior to this role, Dr. Chuang held pharmacy director positions at several large healthcare institutions, including Regional Medical Center of San Jose, Sutter Delta Medical Center, Kingwood Medical Center, and Havasu Regional Medical Center. In these capacities, Dr. Chuang led multidisciplinary teams, implemented decentralized pharmacy practices, advanced transitions of care programs, and spearheaded antimicrobial stewardship initiatives. Dr. Chuang has consistently demonstrated expertise in system standardization, protocol development, operational transformation, and staff growth.
In addition to administrative leadership, Dr. Chuang has contributed to pharmacy education as Adjunct Faculty at Midwestern University College of Pharmacy in Glendale, Arizona. He is the recipient of multiple professional honors, including the Arizona Rookie Preceptor of the Year Award and the Excellence in Pharmaceutics Award.
He has earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Midwestern University and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Biology from the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Chuang holds active pharmacist licenses in California and Arizona.
