Tripurari Mishra, MD, FACS, FASMBS, MBS-FPD is a board-certified bariatric and general surgeon with specialized expertise in minimally invasive and foregut surgery. He currently practices with Sutter East Bay Medical Group, providing advanced surgical care at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland and Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch, California.

Dr. Mishra completed his fellowship in Advanced GI, Foregut, and Bariatric Surgery at Gundersen Health System, where he obtained certification from the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he received robotic surgery training and earned FES and FLS certifications.

He earned his medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Biology from Case Western Reserve University, graduating with high academic distinction.  An active contributor to academic surgery, Dr. Mishra has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, textbook chapters, and national presentations, with a focus on bariatric surgery outcomes, metabolic disease, and minimally invasive techniques. In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Mishra is an active member of professional organizations including the American College of Surgeons (FACS), ASMBS (FASMBS), and SAGES. 

Dr. Mishra has been recognized for excellence in his field in General and Bariatric Surgery in 2024 with regional recognition in Arkansas. He has been on several television interviews. Outside of medicine, he enjoys tennis, hiking, and reading.
