Matthew Solomon, MD, PhD, FACC
Matthew D. Solomon, MD, PhD, FACC is the Chief Scientific Officer and System Vice President of Research and Analytics at Sutter Health, where he leads an enterprise research portfolio spanning clinical trials, health systems research, discovery science, and research administration. A board-certified cardiologist and physician-scientist, he is internationally recognized for his work in outcomes research and the care of patients with aortic disease. He previously founded and directed the nation's largest population management program for aortic disease, serving more than 4.5 million members and advancing research in heritable thoracic aortic disease, aortic aneurysm, and aortic dissection. Dr. Solomon serves on the Board of the John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health and is a frequent invited speaker on aortic disease, cardiovascular outcomes research, and AI in healthcare. His research has appeared in leading journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine, and JAMA Cardiology. He earned his undergraduate degree at Stanford University, his MD and PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles, and completed his internal medicine residency and fellowship training in cardiovascular disease at Stanford University.
