Description: 

The Quality Review and Improvement Committee (QRIC) is a multi-disciplinary, cross-divisional team of PAFMG physicians who convene twice a month to conduct case reviews. The purpose is to identify areas for improvement in patient care, optimize the quality of care, and provide feedback to clinicians, leaders, and system to prevent future errors and allow for shared best practices. Cases are referred from MIDAS/Risk department, patient relations department, clinical department. Quarterly reports of the clinical cases that were discussed and triaged are published in a report called Peggy Pearls. Addressing and mitigating bias is an integral component of this series. Case outcomes are not provided until an outcome vote has been taken by attendees in order to reduce bias.

After Attending This Activity Learners Should Be Able To:

1. Evaluate the quality of care delivered through structured case review.

2. Discuss and apply current clinical standards and guidelines to assess care practices.

3. Deliver constructive feedback to PAFMG clinicians and leaders when opportunities for improvement are identified, while practicing evidence-based approaches to providing effective feedback.

4.Share clinical pearls and key lessons learned with PAFMG clinicians and leaders to promote continuous learning and quality improvement.
