Dr. Rao is a board certified radiation oncologist.  He graduated AOA from the University of Virginia school of medicine in 2003 & finished his residency training in 2008 from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.  He was then on faculty at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa until 2014 where he worked in the head and neck, cutaneous and CNS divisions and while there held the title of Associate Professor.  He subsequently worked at Advent Health's Florida Hospital in Orlando from 2014 to 2017 serving as co-director of the Gamma Knife program.  He moved to California in 2017 to join the Rohnert Park Cancer Center and help develop their cranial SRS and body SBRT programs.  He enjoys serving the North Bay patient community and treating all tumor subtypes.
