The Psychiatric Grand Rounds is an educational series designed to improve psychiatric, psychological, and social work practice, including patient care, education, and public health. Relevant case studies are presented to promote active learning strategies. These presentations are open to all mental health professionals including students.
Session Description:
This session explores a principle‑based framework for understanding mental health that moves beyond a narrow focus on diagnosis and symptom reduction. Participants will learn practical checklists for evaluating an individual’s overall mental health, identifying therapeutic possibilities, and conducting meaningful follow‑up, while critically examining the role of medications in contemporary psychiatric practice. Emphasis is placed on empathic, holistic, and evidence‑informed approaches that support human flourishing and mitigate bias in clinical decision‑making
