Series Description: 

This is a twice-monthly conference moderated by medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgery, radiology and/or pathology specialists and attended by community practitioners affiliated with Sutter Delta Medical Center. Specific patient cases are discussed and are generally related to oncology and hematology diagnoses, screening, treatment (including clinical trials), prognosis, follow-up, palliative/hospice care, survivorship and mortality/morbidity issues. Selected patients are currently admitted to Sutter Delta Hospital or use outpatient services at the hospital as part of their diagnostic work-up, screening and/or treatment. Cases are presented in a confidential, HIPAA compliant manner.

Learning Objectives- After Attending this Activity, Learners Should be Able to:

1. Identify and explore oncology screening guidelines and screening tools and technology available to general and high-risk patients in the community. This includes references to guidelines from various oncology organizations including ASTRO, ASCO and NCCN.
2. Discuss appropriate diagnostic work-up and treatment guidelines. for certain hematologic and solid tumor malignancies, including the importance of physical exam and how to use radiology, cytology, pathology, next-generation sequencing, molecular profiling, tumor typing and genomic testing in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. This includes references to guidelines from various oncology organizations including ASTRO, ASCO and NCCN.
3. Discuss and explore the latest developments in cancer therapy, pain management and palliative/hospice care and support and rehabilitative services for patients in the community.
4. Discuss and highlight disparities in oncology screening and care in the community.
