Session Description:

This presentation updates the audience (clinicians, providers, residents) on the topic of suicide with focus on global and local trends, use of assessment tools (SAD PERSONS, CSSR-S, SAFE-T, Stanley Brown, PHQ-9) and update on interventions for patients during a suicide crisis.

Session Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, learners will be able to:

1. Describe how to assess the suicide risks using SAD PERSONS.

2. Learn potential causes that lead to suicide and suicide behaviors.

3. Discuss current interventions in mitigation of suicide risks.
