Series Description: 

Physicians seek to improve their competence, knowledge, and skills to evaluate, assess, diagnose and manage complex stroke cases. Active discussion using stroke case studies and practice-based neurological patient care management will promote interactive dialogue to improve overall neurological knowledge, competency, and performance of the conference attendees. Specialist physicians, APCs and RNs from neurology, neuroradiology, emergency medicine, neurosurgery, and neurointerventional radiology will have an opportunity to present their patient cases and receive feedback and/or recommendations from peer physician specialists.

Learning Objectives: 

At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

1. Evaluate and interpret vascular neuroimaging.

2. Correlate neuroimaging to patient presentation.

3. Summarize best practices for current stroke patient management.

4. Discuss social issues, age, gender, language, and ethnicity impacts on clinical presentation and/or implicit biases impacts on treatment planning.

5. Explain the role of endovascular and neurosurgical intervention in the care of stroke patients and when these interventions are appropriate for improved patient care outcomes.
