Series Description: 

The East Bay Lung Nodule and Cancer Screening Program is an interdisciplinary educational series focused on improving the evaluation, follow-up, and management of patients with lung nodules identified on imaging. Through case-based discussions, participants will apply Lung-RADS and Fleischner guidelines, address incidental findings, and collaborate across specialties to develop timely, coordinated, and patient-centered care plans. The series emphasizes effective communication, shared decision-making, and holistic care approaches to reduce care fragmentation, enhance patient experience, and improve clinical outcomes.

Learning Objectives: 

After Attending This Activity Learners Should Be Able To:

1. Develop and implement an evidence-based, patient-centered management plan for patients with lung nodules that incorporates clinical findings, patient preferences, and psychosocial considerations.
2. Apply Lung-RADS and Fleischner guidelines to evaluate lung nodules and determine appropriate follow-up, including imaging, tissue biopsy, or referral for shared decision-making consultation.
3. Collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary care team to communicate diagnostic findings and educate patients, caregivers, and referring clinicians on coordinated lung nodule management strategies.
