Asma Ahmed is a PGY1 Pharmacy Resident at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento. She completed her BA in Molecular Cell Biology at UC Berkeley, her Masters in Public Health at the University of Washington and her PharmD at University of the Pacific. In addition to completing a Medication Use Evaluation on Insulin drip and basal insulin overlap in pediatric DKA patients at SMCS, she has worked in outpatient diabetes management during her final year as a pharmacy intern. 

Asma was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 9, so she has first-hand experience with DKA and managing Type 1 Diabetes. 

In her free time, Asma enjoys reading, writing and spending time with her family, cats and friends.
