Neuroscience Grand Rounds brings together neurologists, neurosurgeons, psychologists, rehabilitation specialists, and allied health professionals to explore the cutting edge of brain and nervous system care. Each session features case presentations, emerging research, and expert dialogue on the latest advances in diagnosis, treatment, and patient outcomes. Learning Objectives: 

At the completion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Understand the history of NPH, the reasons it's underdiagnosed, and it's association with other neurodegenerative diseases.

  2. Recognize the characteristic clinical and neuroimaging features of NPH.

  3. Understand the appropriate use of diagnostic fluid diversion (tap or drain trial) for NPH diagnosis.

  4. Review the latest literature supporting the use of VP shunting to improve gait and surgical aspects of VP shunt placement and management.
