Description: 

This activity offers a multidisciplinary overview of molecular and genetic testing and its role in guiding evidence-based treatment decisions. Participants will learn how to select appropriate diagnostic tests following pathology review and apply results to inform systemic treatment strategies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and hormone therapy. The course also explores key components of comprehensive care, including surgical management, imaging approaches to assess disease extent, and the integration of palliative care, clinical trials, and supportive services to optimize patient outcomes.

Learning Objectives: 

Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Select appropriate molecular and genetic tests following pathology review to guide evidence-based treatment decisions.
  2. Interpret pathology findings and imaging results to accurately assess disease characteristics and extent.
  3. Apply molecular and diagnostic data to determine optimal systemic treatment strategies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and hormone therapy.
  4. Integrate surgical options, palliative care, and supportive services into comprehensive, patient-centered care plans. Identify appropriate clinical trial opportunities and supportive resources to enhance patient outcomes.
