FACULTY MENTORING
During my tenure as Fellowship Program Director at UCSF, I was responsible for reviewing all applications and applicants applying for the Neurovascular and Neurocritical Care Fellowship Program at UCSF. This fellowship program is a 2 year program that involves 1 year of training in critical care medicine, and one year of training in neurovascular and neurocritical care medicine. As the fellowship program director, I interfaced with the fellows directly in clinical teaching and in weekly one-on-one didactic conferences, and by discussing performance evaluations, and career direction. In addition, I met with them informally to discuss other aspects of the fellowship program and their thoughts and ideas regarding their training.

Once I started my fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology (October 2006), I reduced the amount of mentoring and teaching to residents considerably. I am still taught stroke and critical care primarily to internal medicine, and primary care residents at Legacy Emmanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon. During this time I was been able to maintain my clinic for Asian patients through Chinese Hospital in San Francisco, and expand my international activities: I have received the title of permanent visiting faculty at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines, and continue my efforts internationally regarding intracranial atherosclerosis.
