Julia Boekelheide is a registered art therapist and licensed marriage and family therapist who has worked at Sutter care at Home providing grief counseling since 2011.  Julia started her time as a post graduate intern and proceeded to work as a bereavement counselor for 5 yrs before taking over as bereavement coordinator, which she has been in the role of ever since.   

She and her team provide individual anticipatory and post death grief counseling to children, teens and adults, facilitate various support groups for hospice and community members, and offer a variety of workshops, community events, and trainings.   

Julia also has experience working at Children’s Hospital Oakland with children and teens impacted by various forms of trauma, abuse, and community violence.  Julia is the mama of a 2 yr old son and 7 year old daughter and when not working or parenting, can be found mosaicking any object she can find and quilting.
