This workshop is designed to build foundational and practical skills in evidence-based practice (EBP). Participants will learn to identify clinical problems unique to Sutter Health, formulate PICOT questions, conduct thorough literature searches, and critically appraise research using validated tools. Through guided instruction and hands-on activities, learners will: Identify and address Sutter-specific clinical problems. Formulate precise PICOT questions Conduct comprehensive literature searches using Sutter Health's library resources. Critically appraise research using validated tools and frameworks. Explore various levels of evidence and understand their application in clinical practice. Review essential statistical concepts relevant to EBP. Synthesize research findings to develop evidence-based recommendations. The course aligns with EBP competencies 1–7 and equips nurses to apply EBP effectively in their day-to-day clinical decision-making to improve patient outcomes. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to integrate EBP into their practice, enhancing the quality of care provided at Sutter Health.

Learning Objectives
After completion of this activity, learners will be able to:
-Understand Critical Appraisal Tools: Introduce various critical appraisal tools and their specific applications in evaluating research evidence.
-Select Appropriate Appraisal Tools: Guide participants on how to choose the appropriate critical appraisal tool based on the study design.
-Apply Critical Appraisal Tools: Present a Sutter-specific case study and demonstrate how to apply the critical appraisal tool to evaluate evidence effectively.
-Hands-On Application: Enable participants to independently apply critical appraisal tools to the PICOT question identified earlier, ask questions, and allow for discussion with peers while also get support with active mentoring from the facilitator.
-Integrate Appraised Evidence: Discuss how to integrate appraised evidence into their clinical decision-making and address common challenges in evidence search and appraisal.
-Clarify Doubts: Provide opportunities for participants to ask questions and clarify doubts through an in-class discussion forum regarding the use of critical appraisal tools and evidence integration.
