This virtual grand rounds will explore how HPV has dramatically changed the face of throat cancer, transforming it from a disease primarily affecting older smokers to one increasingly seen in younger, otherwise healthy adults. Participants will learn how to properly diagnose these cases using the latest imaging techniques and essential HPV testing, while understanding when patients might benefit from less intensive treatments that can preserve quality of life without compromising cure rates. The discussion will wrap up with practical guidance on following patients after treatment and emphasizing the powerful role of HPV vaccination in preventing these cancers before they start.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this learning activity, participants will be able to:
1.) Recognize epidemiology and risk factors associated with HPV-mediated oropharyngeal cancer.
2.) Describe the recommended diagnostic workup, including imaging and tissue diagnosis with HPV/p16 testing.
3.) Differentiate surgical and nonsurgical treatments and identify appropriate patients for de-intensified therapy.
4.) Consider surveillance strategies and HPV vaccination for cancer prevention.
