Nilushka Melnick, MPH, ACC, LSSBB
Nilushka Melnick is a Principal Leadership and Organizational Development Consultant. Her role is to empower, transform, and inspire individuals and teams on their growth journeys. With over 15 years of experience in healthcare leadership, she focuses on aligning program objectives with organizational goals to enhance patient and people experiences.
Before joining Sutter Health, she was the Director of Strategic Programs, at Stanford Health Care. She partnered with C-suite executives and physician leaders to drive key improvement initiatives, impacting over 16,000 patients and generating $20 million in financial benefits. She co-created innovative physician incentive programs and fostered a culture of continuous improvement through training programs. Her expertise in change management and process improvement has been crucial in optimizing resource allocation and project execution.
Prior to Stanford Health Care, she led the cross-functional project management team at Kaiser Permanente to develop a feasibility study and business case for the KP School of Medicine. She also co-developed a five-year strategic plan for Graduate Medical Education, enhancing training capacity and promoting diversity in medicine. She holds a Master’s in Public Health from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of California, Riverside. She is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and a coach in leadership development, Clifton Strengths, and Positive Intelligence. She is passionate about fostering well-being and resilience by teaching mindfulness classes in the community. Additionally, she served as the inaugural co-chair for the Stanford Health Care Women and Allies Employee Resource Group, dedicated to promoting an inclusive environment for professional growth and community engagement.
