I started as a new grad nurse in a mixed ICU in March 2020, at the very beginning of covid. The experiences I had during a time of pivoting and adapting to a constantly changing environment are what have shaped my fascination for critical care. I decided to focus on the neuro side of critical care which is the specialty I currently work in as a bedside nurse. I would not have the confidence in my nursing skills today without the teachers and mentors I had/have throughout my journey which is why I wanted to become an educator. As a way of paying it forward, I make it my goal to help new/transitioning nurses know that they are not alone in their journey.
