Nick Egan, CBIS, LSVT, Vestibular Competency
I have been a PT with Sutter since 2009, and in that time I have specialized in complex neurologic and vestibular rehabilitations. I have served as the clinic lead and have transitioned to the title of clinical specialist, where it is my job to guide other clinicians with complex decision making or rehab progression as they need. I have been CI to many students, many of which now work for Sutter. I have represented Sutter at an interhospital conference presenting on the topic of post concussive dizziness, as well as presented on the topics of basic vestibular rehabilitation overview, fall prevention for the population of CVA, SCI and high risk populations, and most recently presented regarding the implications for Botox to manage spasticity at stroke support group. I have taught courses on BPPV and POTS. I am the primary PT assessing patients in our PMR clinics as well as our spasticity clinic, and more recently have been collaborating with Dr. Hembd regarding spasticity surgeries. In spasticity clinic it is my job to identify the specific spastic muscles that are affecting function in both the arms and legs, as well as muscle location for injection. My current project is that I am creating a protocol for assessment of NPH pre and post CSF pull for potential shunt implications, and I am working with other great clinicians regarding how to make the entire process of identification of potential NPH, to SCF pull, to clinical assessment with physical therapy more seamless.
