I am a neuromuscular neurologist and Director of the Forbes Norris ALS/MDA Research and Treatment Center.  I completed my medical training at Cambridge and Edinburgh Universities in the UK; did my neurology Specialist Registrar training at Oxford; and completed neuromuscular and clinical neurophysiology fellowships at Queen Square, in London, and Stanford.  I joined Bob Miller and Jon Katz at The Forbes Norris Clinic at CPMC in 2016. I have been PI and sub-I on numerous trials in ALS, CIDP, myasthenia gravis and autoimmune myopathies. I have published widely in the field. My book, “Diagnosing ALS”, co-authored with Martin Turner, was published by Oxford University Press in 2019.  I am passionate about the care of people with ALS and have worked in this field in England, Australia and the US.
