Casey Bell, RN, BSN
My name is Casey Bell, and I am the Manager of Clinical Simulation at SRMC Building 7. My career in healthcare began as an EMT, where I worked alongside amazing coworkers to provide emergency care to a large range of patients. While working in EMS, I went to nursing school at Sacramento City College and Sacramento State, where I achieved my Bachelor's in Nursing in 2016. I worked in an LTACH as my first job, which was one of the hardest jobs I have ever known. The patients were complicated, chronically sick, and often had many rare disease processes. But I loved my patients and always tried to make time to sit with them and chat. Later, I decided I wanted to jump back into emergency medicine, and became an ER nurse...where I stayed for the majority of my bedside career. I loved Emergency Medicine! It was challenging, rewarding and there was always something new to learn! During my time in the ER, I join Sutter Health University as a facilitator for ER, ICU and New grad residency. I loved helping nurses feel more comfortable in their roles, and thoroughly enjoyed simulation and its benefits!
In December of 2024, I became the Manager of Clinical Simulation. In my role, I support GME residents, nursing, and allied health in their education through simulation! I love my job...it "fills my cup up", as they say. It allows me to be creative, challenge myself and others, and help improve patient outcomes through training providers.
