Raul serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Sutter Health's Palo Alto Medical Foundation, a position he has held since 2013.  He joined Sutter Health in 2009 as the Vice President of Finance for PAMF’s Camino Division and served a dual role as CFO and Executive of Support Services from 2019-21.  He has worked in not-for-profit healthcare for the entirety of his 27-year finance career.

Raul was born in the Philippines and raised in the southeast suburbs of Los Angeles.  His educational degrees include a Bachelor in Biochemistry from UCLA and a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota.  He is also a graduate of Sutter Health’s Leadership Academy and is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum Silicon Valley. 

His community engagement includes serving as board member and vice chair of AACI, a Federally Qualified Health Center in an underserved area of San Jose.   Raul is also active in the LGBTQ+ community including past roles as Chair of Sutter Health’s Pride Employee Resource Group and Board Member and Treasurer of Rainbow Recreation.  

Raul enjoys running, travel, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.   He and his partner are long-time residents of San Jose and feel blessed to live in Silicon Valley where Raul is honored to serve Sutter Health’s patients alongside his Sutter teammates.
