Kevin Cook, MSBA Boston University 1999
Kevin Cook serves as the Greater Silicon Valley, President at Sutter Health. Kevin’s leadership has focused the Greater Silicon Valley Division on growth, access, and patient experience. Kevin, who has over 20 years’ experience in health care leadership, joined Sutter in this role in June 2023 from Caldwell Butler, a healthcare consulting firm specializing in research-based methods to improve margin, operational improvement, staffing, and patient experience.
Previously, Kevin served as Chief Operating Officer at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS) – a five-region, 10-hospital system based in Louisiana and Mississippi. Prior to joining FMOLHS, he served as CEO of the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s (UMMC) health system in Jackson, Mississippi. Before UMMC, he worked at Mercy Health in Cincinnati, where he served in Ohio and Pennsylvania as a hospital Chief Operating Officer and a regional and market CEO.
Kevin has long been engaged with the governance of various organizations and is currently serving on the Council of Academic Health System Executives at the Association of American Medical Colleges, Joint Venture Silicon Valley, and the Board of the American Leadership Forum of Silicon Valley. Kevin has also been previously recognized in Beckers as one of the 100 Academic Medical Center CEOs to know.
Kevin received his bachelor’s degree from Hobart College in Geneva, New York, and his MBA from Boston University. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1991-99, achieving the rank of Major.
