Jill Foley is an OBGYN physician who has been employed by Sutter East Bay Medical Group (SEBMG) since its inception in 2005. Dr. Foley completed medical school at the University of Southern California and residency at the University of California, San Francisco. Her first practice location after training was in Berkeley and Orinda with four other OBGYN physicians beginning in 2001. Her practice was one of several that came together to form SEBMG in 2005.

In 2010, Dr. Foley was selected as the SEBMG department chair for OBGYN. The next year she took on additional leadership as the Assistant Medical Director, overseeing operations and strategy for multiple specialties in the Berkeley and Oakland area. Dr. Foley is committed to lifelong learning and as such, she became a certified lean leader in 2014 and completed Sutter Health’s Leadership Academy in 2017. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst focused on Health Care Administration. In 2018, Dr. Foley assumed the role of Chief Medical Officer, Specialties for SEBMG.

Dr. Foley is passionate about improving the experience of patients and contributing to the health of her community. As a leader and a physician, she focuses on removing barriers that impact clinicians’ ability to provide the best quality care. She listens patients’ stories, encouraging them to share their experience of care with health care providers and health care systems and then uses this information to influence and improve the care of patients at Sutter Health. In her current role, Dr. Foley supports initiatives focused on enhancing professional fulfillment for SEBMG clinicians as well as leadership development and mentorship.
