Daniel Brennan, MD, BS

Dr Dan Brennan is a board-certified general pediatrician from the Sansum Medical Group in Santa Barbara. He has been in practice for over 24 years and currently serves as the Children's Health Service Line Medical Director for the Greater Central Coast Division, Department Chair for Hitchcock Pediatrics and is a Board Member for the Sansum Medical Group. He serves on many Sutter Health work groups and committees, including the Sutter Health Vaccine Advisory Committee. He was also recently appointed to the California Immunization Coalition Advisory Council.
In 2014, Dr Brennan founded Strive for 95, a community coalition made up of Sansum Clinic, Cottage Health, Santa Barbara County Public Health Department, Santa Barbara County Education Office and several other non-profit organizations to educate the public about the importance of community immunity and promote a vaccine rate of above 95%. Through an ad campaign that included TV, print, radio, internet and a community Town Hall, Strive for 95 helped Santa Barbara County achieve a childhood vaccine rate above 98%. In 2015, Dr Brennan was honored as the Santa Barbara County Physician of the Year by the Central Coast Medical Association for Strive for 95 and his community advocacy for vaccines.
Dr Brennan also served as the President of Dos Pueblos Little League, a Board Member for AYSO Region 122 and has coached over 60 youth sports teams over a 17-year coaching career, He is currently a USSF and Advanced AYSO soccer referee.
Dr Brennan completed his pediatric residency at Cedars-Sinai in 2001, graduated from Albany Medical College in 1998 and earned his BS in Biochemistry from UCLA in 1994.
Dr Brennan has also been a health columnist for over 20 years and a medical consultant for the USA Television series Burn Notice and Complications
Dr Brennan is married (Yael) and has three sons (Josh 21 attending USC, Andy 18 attending USC, Matthew 10th grade)
