Wynde Vastine, BA, MA, SEP, CCC-SLP, NCVS-trained vocologist

Mx. Vastine (they/them) has been working with the speaking and singing voice for over 2 decades. They view the voice as an expression of the soul and are deeply sensitive to the impact of voice difficulty on all areas of life and identity, and they specialize in working with a wide range of voice, upper airway disorders with an additional specialization in the treatment of trauma as it relates to the voice, breath and swallowing. They have extensive experience working with performers and other professional voice users. A leader in the field of voice and trauma, they regularly lead trainings for other speech-language pathologists, voice teachers, otolaryngologists, and more. Research interests include the intersection of perinatal trauma and upper airway disorders, neurodiversity affirming practice, and counseling within Speech-Language Pathology. Mx Vastine holds an MA in Speech-Language Pathology from University of Pittsburgh, a vocology certification from the National Center for Voice Science, and a BFA in theatre from New York University: Tisch School of the Arts. They completed their advanced voice fellowship at San Francisco Voice and Swallowing, and their SEP certification through Somatic Experiencing International. Wynde acted professionally for much of their life and continues to write and play music today.
