Nurses talking in a group

0847_SHU_Preceptor Foundations_Live-7/30/26 Class

Sacramento, CA US
July 30, 2026

Description:

The Preceptor Foundations Course was developed in response to the need to increase the number of prepared preceptors at Sutter Health and is designed to provide a standardized approach in preparing providers for their role as preceptors. The preceptor role has been in existence for many years. It helps promote the success of new employees in the workplace, while enhancing learning outcomes, creating a more supportive work environment, and increasing job satisfaction. This course prepares Sutter Health employees by providing them with the roles of a preceptor at Sutter Health. It provides them with tools for communication and feedback while creating a relationship between the preceptor and the preceptor. The course clarifies the expectations of Preceptors and provides information about validating competency and feeling confident in their ability to train and orient new staff.
