Dr. Thomas Shaughnessy attended Carnegie Melon University in Pittsburgh, PA where he received his BS degree.  He attended Temple University in Philadelphia PA, where he received his MD degree.  Once completing his MD he went on to an internship and residency at University Hospital of Cleveland in Cleveland, OH where he specialized in Surgery.  He completed his residency training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA specializing in Anesthesiology.  His board certifications include Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine.  In addition, he has completed an MBA at the University of California, Irvine, with a focus on Health Care Administration.  Dr. Shaughnessy has over 30 years of medical practice experience. He currently resides in Burlingame, CA and practices at Mills-Peninsula Medical Center.  Dr. Shaughnessy is also the Medical Director for the Bay Area eICU.
