The Director Academy is a transformative learning experience designed to cultivate strategic leadership across Sutter Health. This immersive program equips directors with the essential capabilities to lead with vision, drive innovation, and align their teams with organizational strategy. Through dynamic peer collaboration, experiential learning exercises, and real-time application of leadership principles, participants strengthen their effectiveness in communication, decision-making, and cross-functional teamwork. The Director Academy program also fosters a vibrant community of leaders who share insights and inspire one another to elevate performance and impact. Ultimately, the leadership growth fostered through Director Academy contributes to enhanced patient care and improved outcomes for patients and families—reinforcing Sutter Health’s mission and values.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

1.Demonstrate trust building skills learned in class and review techniques to provide coaching to employees to help increase engagement, motivation, and effectiveness, measured by peer coaching and 360 surveys.

2. Demonstrate and build change leadership skills to lead and support change efforts within our organization. Participants will apply the learning to their Director Academy projects with application of change tools and implementing change methodology from the PROSCI research.

3. Evaluate behaviors associated with specific business objectives and results. 2.) Create a culture transformation plan, using the 'Partner's in Leadership' Results Pyramid tool, to guide teams during project implementations.

This program is offered twice in the Spring of 2026. Learners are responsible for enrolling themselves into the correct cohort and following all required steps to claim CE credit.

Learners may enroll by first clicking the Register tab from the course page. From the list of available class dates, check the corresponding box for the date which you are participating in. Click the Enroll button to finalize.
