Ron Shinault, Ceritfied Athletic Trainer(ATC)

A 2001 graduate from the University of Georgia with B.S.Ed. in Exercise Science, a Certified Athletic Trainer since 2002, and a 2003 graduate from Florida State University with a M.S. in Sport Administration, I have worked in the collegiate and professional sports environments leading and developing sports medicine teams comprised of Certified Athletic Trainers, Primary Care Physicians, Orthopedic Surgeons, supporting the health, medical care, and performance of athletes. With a passion for developing integrated, multidisciplinary, and collaborative provider groups I've spent the past 25 years building networks for care in conjunction with other allied healthcare professionals including Physical Therapists, Massage Therapists, Chiropractors, Strength and Conditioning coaches, and specialist Physicians.
I recently joined Sutter Health from the MLS San Jose Earthquakes Soccer club serving as the Director of Health and Performance, overseeing sports medicine, physical performance, nutrition, and sports psychology for the youth, minor league, and major league teams. Prior this role, I served as Head Athletic Trainer for the United States Men’s National Team (2019-2022) and was with the USMNT in Qatar during the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Previously I also worked with the Earthquakes as Director of Performance (2018-19) and Head Athletic Trainer (2015-18), I began my career as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with Florida State University (2002-04), University of Georgia (2004-06), and University of San Francisco (2006-08) before rising to Director of Sports Medicine with USF (2008-15).
