Gera Anderson, Psy.D., M.Ed.

Dr. Anderson is a licensed psychologist with dual specialization in Health Psychology and Neuropsychology. Her work illuminates how brain function shapes behavior, how psychological factors influence physical illness, and how integrated care strategies can optimize both mental and physical health outcomes. As part of the Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) team, she collaborates closely with medical providers to support patients with behavioral health needs. Her clinical approach emphasizes brief, targeted interventions that address the mental and emotional components of physical health conditions—delivered directly at the point of care.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Anderson serves as Family Medicine Teaching Faculty and Behavioral Scientist, where she trains and precepts residents in behavioral medicine, communication skills, integrated care workflows, and patient‑centered approaches to complex medical and psychosocial presentations. She develops and delivers curriculum, supports resident professional development, and helps cultivate psychologically safe learning environments that promote equity, growth, and whole‑person care.
An enigmatic lover of dance, Dr. Anderson brings a rich and diverse background to her work. She has experience across education, human services, and psychology, serving varied populations in settings that include community mental health, correctional facilities, psychiatric hospitals, schools, and medical environments. In her counseling role, she primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution‑Focused Therapy. Her goals center on reducing symptoms, strengthening coping skills, and enhancing overall well‑being.
