After graduating from University of the Pacific's Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy & Health Sciences in 2013, Jon completed his PGY1 residency training at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, CA. He completed his PGY2 at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, CA to specialize in emergency medicine pharmacy practice and later obtained board certifications in critical care and emergency medicine. 

Jon came to Sutter Roseville Medical Center (SRMC) in April 2017 to start the Emergency Department (ED) pharmacy service. Within the first two years, he authored two collaborative practice agreements. The first granted ED pharmacists the ability to manage post-discharge culture results. This was followed by another to manage the pharmacotherapy of behavioral health patients. This laid the foundation for him to become the first pharmacist to complete the credentialing process at SRMC. An active contributor, Jon has represented the pharmacy department on SRMC's Stroke and Sepsis Committees and participated in various process improvement initiatives over the years. He also created and delivered educational content for pharmacists, nurses, and providers in and outside of the ED. Among the several system level committees with which he participated, he took a very active role in the ED Subject Matter Expert group to create and revise order sets and collaborate on system initiatives to optimize ED workflow and efficiency. Due to its clinical success and multidisciplinary backing, the SRMC ED pharmacy service has grown to include six full-time ED pharmacists providing support to the ED 24/7.

As an Inpatient Pharmacy Manager supporting all pharmacy staff at SRMC, Jon specifically continues to have direct oversight of the ED pharmacists to support their practice. Due to his breadth of ED experience and continued ED bedside practice, he also serves as the inaugural PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency Program Director.
