Function on the multidisciplinary team as a clinical resource, care provider, advocate, educator and counselor for breast and lung oncology patients. Responsible for ensuring all adult patients with a breast and lung oncology diagnosis receive quality and comprehensive services by coordinating care with the multidisciplinary team. Provide expert nursing care based on theoretical principals and scientific knowledge. Inform breast cancer patients of their diagnosis in a timely manner, help educate them in understanding their diagnosis, treatment options and available resources, and also act as the strategic point of contact for them and their families. Serve as a point of contact for referring physicians, patients and caregivers to provide resources regarding accessing clinical and supportive care. Participate in multi-disciplinary Tumor Board and help develop the nurse navigator role. Previous nursing experience includes: administering chemotherapy/biotherapy in the outpatient setting; extensive clinical experience specializing in the care of patients admitted to the cardiac step-down unit with a high proficiency in cardio versions; in-depth experience caring for pre/post-op Liver Transplant patients in the medical/surgical environment. B.A. (dual degree) in German and in Communicative Sciences & Disorders (University of Florida), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Florida International University), BLS, CBCN, GRN (NICHE), Clinical Coach & Charge Nurse certified, Stroke, CHF & ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy nationally certified.
