Homero del Pino, PhD, MS

Homero E. del Pino has a BA in philosophy from Cornell University and a doctorate in philosophy and a Master of Science in clinical research from UCLA. He is a Professor at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, and a Health Research Scientist at Veterans Affairs Health Administration. He worked with health departments and CBOs at the national level and with the CDC before starting his research career. His research focuses on the impact of family relationships on the health outcomes of sexual minority men. He and his team recently completed the “Entre Herman@s” study, an NIH-funded, RCT to test the efficacy of a sibling-based HIV biomedical prevention intervention. He and his team are committed to engaging the families and siblings of Latinx sexual minority men in health advocacy.
