Tamra Tracy, BSN

Tamra is a passionate and highly accomplished nursing leader with over 40 years of diverse experience in healthcare. She currently serves as the Manager of the newly designed Transition to New Nurse Manager Program (TTNMP) at Sutter Health University, a systemwide initiative created to support and develop emerging nurse leaders across the Sutter Health system. In addition, Tamra is a faculty member with the Association of Nurse Leaders (AONL), where she contributes her expertise to the advancement of nursing leadership nationally.
Throughout her career, Tamra has held pivotal leadership roles, including Cardiovascular Service Line Manager, STEMI Coordinator, and a 14-year tenure as an Emergency Department Nurse Director. She has led impactful initiatives across clinical education, program development, and operational leadership—most notably designing a 14-day accelerated transition program for RNs entering emergency care, which was successfully implemented across a 26-hospital system.
Tamra is widely known for her strategic thinking, LEAN-trained process improvement expertise, and ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with staff, providers, and patients alike. Her leadership style is grounded in excellence, empathy, and empowerment. Over the course of her career, she has trained and developed more than 500 healthcare professionals and continues to champion high standards in patient care, leadership development, and team performance.
Her professional development includes advanced coursework in Management Relations, EMTALA Regulations, and Crucial Conversations. She is LEAN trained, Franklin Covey trained, and holds certifications in CEN, TNCC, and CPEN. In addition, she is a certified StrengthsFinder Coach. Tamra’s unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and people-first leadership makes her a transformative force in healthcare and nursing leadership development.
