Melissa (Lissa) Harris is a passionate nurse with a lifelong commitment to ensuring every patient receives high‑quality, compassionate care. For more than 30 years, most of those being in the Emergency Department, she has grown from staff nurse to charge nurse, supervisor, and ultimately Clinical Nurse Educator. After earning her MSN‑FNP, she discovered a calling in supporting bedside nurses by translating advanced education into practical, meaningful learning in the ED.

She has served as an Emergency Department Supervisor and Emergency Department Educator, and she thrives in environments where collaboration drives better outcomes. Lissa has contributed to numerous interdisciplinary process‑improvement projects, and she brings this same passion into her work with the Transition to Nurse Manager Program and Transition to Charge Nurse Leadership Program at Sutter Health University.
A TNCC instructor and natural facilitator, Lissa is known for her uplifting presence and her strengths of positivity, developer, empathy, learner, and adaptability. She believes deeply in the power of supportive leadership and continuous learning and is committed to shaping confident, compassionate nurse leaders.
