Dr. Sison is a child psychiatrist at Sutter Health, where he serves as Medical Director of Psychiatry at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento. In this role, he provides medical leadership on the inpatient medical floors and in the Emergency Department through the Psychiatry Response Team (PRT). He is the inaugural Program Director for the Sutter Health Sacramento Program in Psychiatry and is leading the development of a new residency training program focused on high‑quality, patient‑centered psychiatric care.
Prior to joining Sutter Health, Dr. Sison spent over 30 years on faculty at the UC Davis School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry. He served as a site director at multiple locations for the Child Psychiatry Training Program and was deeply involved in graduate medical education, teaching and supervising residents, fellows, and medical students. In subsequent leadership positions, Dr. Sison played a key part in the development of a new private free‑standing psychiatric hospital in California—the first of its kind in over 30 years—serving as Medical Director and guiding the facility through licensing and accreditation with the California Department of Public Health and The Joint Commission. He remains a volunteer clinical professor at UC Davis and is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He believes psychiatric care should be grounded in service, kindness, collaboration, and healing
