Johanna Rengifo Nevarez, PhD in Clinical Psychology
Dr. Johanna Rengifo is a bilingual (Spanish / English) Clinical Neuropsychologist. She has over 10 years of experience assessing neurological and psychological conditions that affect adults. She works part-time at Sutter providing neuropsychological evaluations for Spanish-speaking patients at the Ray Dolby Brain Health Center in San Francisco. On days that she is not working at Sutter, she works as a neuropsychologist at the UC Davis Alzheimer's Disease Center in Walnut Creek. She received her Ph.D. from Palo Alto University, with a double major in neuropsychology and clinical neuroscience in women’s health, in conjunction with Stanford School of Medicine, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Tampa VA and post-doctoral training in Gero-Neuropsychology at the Miami VA, in Rehabilitation-Neuropsychology at Tampa General Hospital, and in Clinical Neuropsychology at UCSF / Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.
Dr. Rengifo received the Mentorship in Cultural Neuropsychology Award for 2021 from the Hispanic Neuropsychological Society, of which she is an active member, and she has in the past served as co-chair of their scientific conference. She is also a member of the National Academy of Neuropsychology, the Northern California Neuropsychology Forum, the Asian Neuropsychological Association, and the Society for Black Neuropsychology.
