Nilufar Abdul, PA-C

Nilufar Abdul is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in neurosurgery and neurocritical care at Sutter Medical Center Sacramento. She completed an advanced fellowship in Neurosurgery and Neurocritical Care at UC Davis Health, a Level I trauma center, where she gained extensive experience managing critically ill neurological patients and coordinating complex intensive care.
Her clinical interests include acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, traumatic brain injury, intracranial pressure and cerebral perfusion optimization, and multimodal neuromonitoring. She is particularly interested in ventilator management in neurologically injured patients, sedation and delirium strategies, hemodynamic support in critically ill patients, post–cardiac arrest care, neuroprognostication, and goals-of-care discussions. She is also engaged in multidisciplinary ICU coordination and protocol-driven care to improve outcomes in neurocritical illness.
Nilufar is experienced in advanced procedures, including arterial line placement and lumbar puncture, as well as ventilator management, perioperative neurosurgical care, and diagnostic interpretation in high-acuity settings.
In addition to her clinical practice, she has a strong foundation in evidence-based medicine and quality improvement, with contributions to initiatives focused on optimizing sedation strategies and improving outcomes in neurocritical care.
