Description:
Coaching has been successfully implemented across many industries to enhance well-being but has only recently been considered for physicians. Physician life coaching is an effective, high quality, cost-effective, and evidence-based intervention designed to lessen burnout and emotional exhaustion and improve resilience and quality of life for physicians. It empowers physicians with the tools and strategies to maintain a fulfilling and successful medical career by helping them reduce burnout, anxiety, self-doubt, shame, imposter syndrome, and guilt so they can take better care of themselves, their families, and their patients. This program is intended to offer group coaching to both our frontline clinicians (physicians and APCs) and our leaders. Leaders: With the rapid changes occurring in healthcare and within Sutter Health, this is a particularly demanding time for medical leadership, as leaders must navigate increasing complexity while also shaping the experience of those they lead. As a result, we are also piloting a small-group coaching retreat that is designed to equip our leaders with tools to lead with a wellness lens—supporting both their own professional fulfillment and the well-being of their teams.
