Jayalakshmi ( Ammu) Ravindran, MD, MS is a neonatologist at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center and also serves as the Associate Medical Director of the ABSMC NICU. She completed her 
undergraduate and master’s training in Biological Sciences at Stanford University, earned her MD from the UCSF School of Medicine, and holds a master’s degree in Global Health from 
UCSF Global Health Sciences. Dr. Ravindran completed her pediatrics residency and neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship at the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital. Her professional interests include neonatal outcomes, global health, quality improvement, and medical education. She is actively involved in teaching and mentorship, serves as Director of the NICU Residency program, as the Vice Chair of the Pediatrics Dept. at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, and has a strong background in clinical research and care of underserved 
populations.
