Ryan Benoit, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Ryan Benoit is a fellowship-trained orthopedic physical therapist at Palo Alto Medical Foundation, part of Sutter Health. He completed both his orthopedic residency and fellowship training at Agile Physical Therapy, where he developed advanced expertise in clinical reasoning, movement analysis, and orthopedic care.
Ryan is an active educator and speaker in post-professional physical therapy education. He co-presents in the Agile Orthopedic Seminar Series (Lumbar and Sacroiliac Joint), focusing on differential diagnosis and ICF-based management for residents and practicing clinicians. He also co-leads the Annual Faculty Development Weekend, training mentors and advancing curriculum design for fellowship and residency programs.
He developed and teaches a Golf Movement Analysis course, covering swing mechanics, injury patterns, and performance-based rehabilitation. His additional teaching includes post-COVID outpatient rehabilitation management, chest pain differential diagnosis in physical therapy, and chronic pain management using therapeutic neuroscience education.
Ryan was the lead author on a systematic review examining injury rates in endurance and obstacle racing events, which he presented as a poster at the APTA Combined Sections Meeting. His earlier teaching experience also includes topics such as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, functional movement screening, and community health education on hypertension and diabetes management.
He is passionate about mentoring residents and fellows and advancing evidence-based, patient-centered orthopedic care.
