About Me

Dr. Timothy D. Law, MD, FACS is a fellowship-trained colorectal surgeon based in the Sutter Roseville Medical Center who serves patients throughout the Greater Sacramento area.  His clinical practice encompasses a wide range of disease processes from complex colon and rectal cancers to benign conditions such as diverticulitis and hemorrhoids.  He specializes in minimally invasive robotic surgery and multidisciplinary cancer treatment.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Law serves as the director of the Sutter Roseville Rectal Cancer Program which is currently in the process of obtaining the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC) designation developed by the American College of Surgeons (ACS).  He also serves as the clinician team lead for Sutter’s Placer County surgical oncology specialties.  Dr. Law is also one of the core faculty for the general surgery residency program at Sutter Roseville and takes an active role in their education and as a mentor.

Dr. Law earned his undergraduate Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in biomedical engineering from Johns Hopkins University.  He then obtained his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the Yale University School of Medicine.  He subsequently completed his general surgery residency at the University of California San Diego followed by fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery at the University of Texas Houston.
