Cassia Yi, APRN, CNS, MSN, CCRN

Cassia Yi, APRN, CNS, MSN, CCRN is a board-certified Clinical Nurse Specialist and is the Clinical Educator and Coordinator for the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) program at UC San Diego Health.
She is clinically active in the care of all ECMO patients, as well as in ECMO research and quality improvement projects. She started the nurse run program at UCSD, and initiated and is a member of the Mobile ECMO team. Due to her efforts, UCSD was granted the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO) Gold Certification for Excellence in ECMO care.
Her other interests include nursing and medical education. She runs the UCSD ECMO education program that trains outside institutional nurses and providers on comprehensive ECMO care and canulation. She is a multidisciplinary trainer for ELSO. Due to her passion in geriatric care, she also runs a senior care staffing company in San Diego.
Cassia is the president elect for the Sothern California Chapter of the Society of Critical Care Medicine. She is active in the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and ELSO. She has been awarded the Marguerite Jackson award for professional nursing excellence and the Advanced Practice Nurse of the Year.
In her free time she loves working on entrepreneurial projects with her husband and spending time with her two children.
