Dr. Surani Hayre-Kwan serves as the Vice President of Professional Practice and Ambulatory Patient Care for Sutter Health.  She advances professional practice, provides leadership in professional development, education, and training for nursing and advanced practice clinicians.  She has 30 years of healthcare experience in ambulatory and acute settings.

Dr. Hayre-Kwan has been a Family NP for 20 years at the Russian River Health Clinic in Guerneville, CA and works as an NP at Sutter Urgent Care in Santa Rosa, CA. She is an adjunct associate professor for the Department of Nursing at Samuel Merritt University.

She has been a member of the Association of California Nurse Leaders for 12 years and serves the organization on the Health Policy Committee.  Dr. Hayre-Kwan has a 23-year history with California Association for Nurse Practitioners serving in board positions for over 19 years at the state and local levels; as president, president-elect, conference chair and the health policy and practice committee. She served a term as the Northern California representative for the national NP organization, American Association for Nurse Practitioners.

She completed a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at Samuel Merritt University.  She also completed a Master of Science in Nursing and a Family Nurse Practitioner certificate at Sonoma State University and is a nationally certified NP in Family Practice.

Dr. Hayre-Kwan has been recognized as a Fellow in the American Association for Nurse Practitioners and in the American College of Health Care Executives.

She serves on several community-based non-profit boards focused on community health and wellness.
