0357_SHVGR_Surgical Hearing Rehabilitation_Live
Hearing loss is a major health problem and is associated with several negative outcomes such as difficulties in communicating and poor quality of life. If un-noticed, or untreated, hearing loss can cause an abundance of problems for patients suffering from the ailment. Hearing rehabilitation as a process where those who suffer with hearing loss are provided treatment and training to help improve their impairment. This is done by helping patients adjust to hearing loss, exploring suitable hearing aids and other devices, and helping them to converse and communicate. This presentation will focus on the various types of hearing loss, provide available options for hearing restoration and provide FDA approved devices for implantation, as well as advise when PCPs can refer patients for implantable devices.
