Tamara Powers, RN, BSN MBA-HCM

A collaborative and mission-driven leader, Tamara (Tammy) Powers, BSN, MBA-HCM, is the CEO of Sutter Roseville Medical Center, a 928,000-square-foot acute-care facility with 382 licensed beds. Spanning 58 acres and serving a broad swath of Northern California, Sutter Roseville is a leading center for the treatment of traumatic injury and illness, operating a certified Level II Trauma Center, a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Sutter Rehabilitation Institute, one of the largest facilities in the area dedicated exclusively to rehabilitation services. It’s also home to a large and growing graduate medical education program that is helping train the next generation of physicians to the highest standards of care.
Before assuming leadership of Sutter Roseville Medical Center, Tammy was most recently the Chief Administrative Officer at Sutter Davis Hospital. She provided operational and strategic direction to the community-based hospital, which offers 53 licensed beds, a family birthing center that delivers 1,100 newborns per year, an emergency department seeing over 29,000 patients per year, and multiple outpatient services, including a surgical service line performing over 200 cases a month. Sutter Davis Hospital recently completed a $70 million hospital expansion, which will support additional birthing center rooms, emergency department bays and inpatient beds.
Prior to joining Sutter Davis Hospital in 2019, she spent more than 20 years in women’s and children’s services leadership roles. She began her career with Sutter Health in 2015, when she served as the Assistant Administrator for Women’s and Children’ Services at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento. Before joining Sutter, Tammy directed women’s and children’s services at Sacred Heart Medical Center and Holy Family Hospital, both located in Washington state, for more than a decade. Born and raised in Spokane, Wash., Tammy holds an undergraduate nursing degree from Washington State University and an MBA in Healthcare Management from Gonzaga University.
Passionate about serving her communities, Tammy serves on the Ronald McDonald Charities Northern California board as well as the Yolo County Food Bank Board of Directors. She has been a committee member for the Close to Home philanthropic campaign to support the Sutter Davis Hospital expansion. Tammy and her family enjoy spending time camping and hiking, participating in community sporting events, and traveling and exploring.
