Erin Lund, MD, MPH

Erin grew up in the rural mountains of Eastern Oregon. After high school she wanted to see more of the world, so she went to Boston for undergraduate studies at Wellesley and then attended Harvard University for medical school. After choosing family medicine for her specialty, she returned west to complete residency at Sutter Santa Rosa. After graduation, she completed a two-year surgical obstetrics fellowship and MPH at the University of New Mexico where she developed an interest in treating addiction in pregnancy. Erin returned to Santa Rosa in 2010 to join the family medicine obstetric call group at the FQHC Santa Rosa Community Health (SRCH). Erin began teaching the family medicine residents on labor and delivery at Sutter Santa Rosa and then in 2013 joined the family medicine residency core faculty as the Director of Maternity Care, a role that she held until 2020. In 2015, Erin founded the New Beginnings Clinic, an FQHC-based multidisciplinary clinic that cares for perinatal patients with substance use disorders, mental health conditions and unstable housing in a trauma-informed way. Further developing her growing passion for addiction medicine, Erin became board certified in Addiction Medicine in 2020 and has been working to expand the residency curriculum in addiction medicine and care of unhoused populations. She also developed and now directs Sutter Santa Rosa's newly ACGME-accredited fellowship in Addiction Medicine which began training its first 2 fellows in 2024. She continues to practice inpatient surgical obstetrics at Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital and cares for a full spectrum family medicine panel at the Caritas Campus of SRCH with a focus on unhoused populations and patients with psychiatric co-morbidities. In her free time, Erin enjoys yoga, hiking, skiing, reading, and spending time with her husband and two boys.
