Pooja Nawathe, M.D., FAAP, FCCM, CHSE-A, CHSOS, is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. She serves as the Associate Director of Congenital Cardiac ICU at Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children’s, Smidt Heart Institute and the Medical Director of Simulation, Pediatrics, Department of Simulation and IPE. She served as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in Department of Pediatrics and Division of Cardiology, Stanford University School of Medicine and is presently the Health Sciences Associate Professor at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Nawathe has been an active member of SCCM since her training and has served leadership roles on several committees in the past including Item Writing Committee, Pediatrics, Pediatric Online Module Development Committee, Research Section Simulation and Education Committee. She is presently an elected Member at Large for the Research section, co-chair of the Mentor Mentee committee, Research section, DISCOVERY network steering committee, DISCOVERY network Education workgroup co-chair , on the Current Concepts in Pediatric Critical Care and is the President Elect for the Southern California Chapter of SCCM. In the last role, she has led the FCCS courses for the SoCal Chapter with the CDC SCCM grant in 2021 and presently is leading the MCCR Pediatrics and Adult In person study group organization for the chapter planned for September and October 2022 respectively. She is a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care (FCCM) and has achieved the Certified Health Care Simulation Educator Advanced (CHSE-A) and Certified Health Care Simulation Operation Specialist (CHSOS) certifications through the Society of Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) where she is active member , Chair of the Pediatric Section and serves on the Accreditation and Certification Council.
